George Rimel

Spent 3 years in the U.S. Army in Hawaii at CINCPAC Intelligence working for Admiral's Sharp and Admiral McCain( John McCains father) and had to brief his dad that he had been shot down and taken as a POW. Worked on a 2 man team and had the opportunity to give both President Johnson and Nixon intelligence briefing. Was awarded the Joint Commendation medal when I left .
Worked for Miami Herald as Bureau Manager in Hollywood Florida, Sales Manager for North Dade Journal, Advertising Manager then Circulation Director and Promotion Director for Bradenton Herald,General Manager of Community Reporter, then to Chicago as Associate Publisher for Booster, Skyline Newpapers then Vice President for Lerner Newspapers-Pulitzer Publishing and then started my own Newspaper over 26 years ago- Lakeview Newspaper in Chicago.
My wife has had cancer for the past 13 years and been in remission, had chemo,radiation and is still fighting it. She is by far the strongest person I know. It had come back on four different occasions.
I have COPD but seem to have it under control with medication.
